To family and friends who were part of Lord of the Rings, Trilogy Tuesday: We have sent special invitations to participate in Marathon Monday.
This is a "By Invitation Only" to a family showing of:
Extended Edition: Fellowship of the Ring
Extended Edition: Two Towers
Extended Edition: Return of the King
The presentation will be on a 60" High Definition Rear Projector Television in DTS 5.1 Surround Sound. Please refer to your invitation for the screening times. Return of the King will be shown twice. Once just after a run to Walmart at midnight on 12/14 and once again on Tuesday evening.
Snacks will be provided throughout the event. Pizza will be served at 6:36 PM on 12/13. We will provide souveneer plates, napkins and cups. Special Return of the King T Shirts will also be avaible to purchase (with no copyright infringment). Orders will be taken during the event.
For those who are worried about out dogs, the carpet will be newly champooed and disinfected, the air filtered and the dogs will be kept out of the Home Theater. During breaks they will be kept outside.
AFTER THE FACT: Our Marathon Monday was a lot of fun. We had lots of soda and popcorn and snacks. We were a bit late starting and chose to eat pizza while the credtis of "Fellowship" were runing. We were eating the last of the pizza when the credits ended. We arrived at Walmart prior to midnight and had to wait about 5 minutes for the Extended Edition of Return of the King to be made available. There were at least 100 people waiting to buy this edition just like we were. We started a little late since we had to stand in long cash register lines. Adding a short intermission at the disc change the movie ended at 5 AM. Lee went to bed but some of the younger folks stayed up until 7 AM to watch additional footage. Tuesday evening, true to our committment we watched "Return of the King" again. Those who attened received complimentary souveneer plates, napkins and cups. They were also able to place an order for a special "Marathon Monday" T Shirt. We had a great time!
